My Review: Bellevue Park Hotel Riga

In August, I went to Riga for the first time. Given its European flair but with a Baltic twist, it had been on my travel list for quite some time so I was happy to finally visit this summer.

As I was planning the trip, I looked for a hotel that was a) nice, but not too expensive, and b) close to the city center.

After some research, I found the Bellevue Park Hotel Riga, a newly renovated hotel with 231 rooms.

One of the things that made me book at The Bellevue was that the city’s attractions are in easy reach of the front door. The tram runs just outside, taxis are easily accessible, and Old Town is within 30-minute walking distance.

My room at Bellevue Park Hotel Riga

My room was on the second floor with a lovely sunset view over the old and quiet part of Riga.

There were two chairs, a desk, a TV, and a minibar in the room, and it was very light. However, in the early hours, I appreciated the curtains that managed to block out the morning sunlight, making it easier for me to sleep in – a must when I’m on vacation.

I was also glad to find outlets near the bed, which is perfect for travel bloggers or digital travelers.

With the Standard room, you automatically get admission to the hotel fitness gym. I didn’t have time to go there, but I liked the fact that it was included in the room.

The bathroom featured a bathtub, a heated towel rack, and a lighted makeup mirror.

Overall it was a nice bathroom, but the glass enclosure on the bathroom was loose, so the floor got slippery and wet whenever I took a shower.

Restaurant and bar

By the main entrance of Bellevue Park Hotel Riga, there’s a restaurant and a lounge area. It has a modern bar and inviting interior, which makes it a great place to spend some time and relax.

In the summertime, there are also chairs and tables outside where you can have dinner or breakfast.

Breakfast is included in the room rate, and it’s a large buffet with a great selection of fruits, bread, eggs and cereals.

My overall experience

Overall, I had a nice stay at the Bellevue Park Hotel, Riga. The location was good, the room was comfortable and the service was friendly.

The reception staff helped me find my way around Riga, provided e-talons for the tram, and helped me book bus tickets to Tallinn.

When I travel solo, I always ask the receptionist for practical things, like how to get around and what to see. The team at the Bellevue hotel was very helpful and resourceful and that’s a big plus in my book.

Given its location, vibe, and amenities, it largely caters to the business traveler and to larger groups.

If you’re either of those, I’d recommend you to stay here. Backpackers might prefer something smaller, cheaper, and more cosy.

Practical info

Prices: Rooms for two range from $80 in high season for a standard room to $38 in low season.

Best time to visit: The hotel is open all year, but Riga is best to visit in the spring and summer when temperatures are higher.

I was a guest of the Bellevue Park Hotel Riga, but all opinions are my own. Whenever I write a hotel review, there will always be full disclosure about whether my stay was hosted by the hotel or paid for with my own money. And even if the hotel decides to offer complimentary services, my review will never be swayed one way or the other.
