Review: Austria Trend Hotel has the best view in Salzburg
I was recently in Salzburg where I stayed at the Austria Trend Hotel.
With a super convenient location, just 100 meters from the train station, it couldn’t have been more ideal for my day trips to Hallstatt and Liechtensteinklamm Gorge.
Plus, check out the view I had from my room!

A LOVELY WELCOME AT AUSTRIA TREND HOTEL
I was welcomed to Austria Trend Hotel by a friendly receptionist.
She made sure my luggage was carried to my room and that I was given a quick tour of the room and hotel facilities.
At the table in my room, I found a fruit snack, a juice, and a voucher for a welcome drink. Such a lovely surprise that really made me feel welcome.
MY ROOM AT AUSTRIA TREND HOTEL
I stayed in a superior executive room, which was very nice.
The Interior was new, minimalistic, and stylish and the bed was big and soft. Across from the bed was a desk with a chair, but the loveliest room feature was the red chair in the corner.
It was a great workplace in the evening.
The room was great and also very quiet. Despite the hotel’s central location, I heard no noise from the streets, the hallway, or neighboring rooms.
The best thing about my room at the Austria Trend Hotel was undoubtedly the view! I was on the 13th floor, just a few floors below the top floor.
On the first day, it was overcast, but on day two I had a grand view of Salzburg old town, Hohensalzburg fortress, and the snow-capped mountain tops in the distance.
The bathroom was also classy and top modern. It had one of those sinks that sit on top of the table and a good shower. I could have stayed here for weeks.
THE AUSTRIA TREND HOTEL RESTAURANT
On the 15th floor is the restaurant, which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. It’s strategically well placed as it has a panoramic view of Salzburg new town and the old town.
The breakfast was typically European with bread, oats, nuts, and eggs. Personally, I enjoyed the dinner more because it was more Austrian-themed.
FINAL THOUGHTS ABOUT AUSTRIA TREND HOTEL
The hotel itself was trendy and I loved staying there. I liked that there was an early check-in (from 10 am) and late check-out (3 pm), which is a rare commodity.
Although Austria Trend Hotel is very centrally located, it is a bit far from the old town.
It takes about 30 minutes to walk (1,8 km) and, like in other European cities, the area surrounding the train station is a bit sketchy. It’s possible to take busses around town though, and the bus station is right next door.
For me, I couldn’t have picked a better-located hotel considering I went to the train station every day.
All in all, Austria Trend Hotel is a great oasis for a bit of pampering and luxury and it’s ideal for business travelers, solo travelers, and people in general who love a great view. I would definitely come back.
PRACTICAL INFO
Four-star hotel: Perfect for a luxurious stay.
Prices: Rooms for two range from $120 for a Classic Room to $187 for a Superior Executive Room. Get more info here.
Best time to visit: The hotel is open all year, but Salzburg is best to visit in the spring and summer when temperatures are higher.
I was a guest of Austria Trend Hotel Europe, but all opinions are my own.
FAQ – Trend Hotel, one of the best hotels in Salzburg
What is the best part of Salzburg to stay in?
For first-time visitors, staying near the Altstadt (Old Town) is ideal. It puts you within walking distance of major attractions like Mozart’s birthplace and the Salzburg Cathedral.
If you prefer a quieter area, the neighborhoods around the Salzach River offer a serene experience with easy access to the city’s heart.
Is it expensive to visit Salzburg?
Salzburg, like many European cities, can be pricey, especially in tourist-heavy areas. However, with some planning, you can find good deals on accommodations and dining.
Consider visiting outside peak seasons and using the Salzburg Card for free public transport and entry to many attractions to save money.
How long do you need to stay in Salzburg?
To truly appreciate Salzburg, a stay of at least two to three days is recommended.
This gives you enough time to explore the Old Town’s historic sites, enjoy a concert, and maybe take a day trip to the nearby Salzkammergut region or the Eagle’s Nest.
Is one night in Salzburg enough?
One night in Salzburg is a tight squeeze.
While you can cover a few highlights, like a quick stroll through the Old Town or a visit to the Hohensalzburg Fortress, it won’t allow you to fully experience the city’s charm and cultural depth.
