My Review: Luxury at St. Petersbourg Hotel, Tallinn
Just a stone’s throw from the main square, tucked away between the cobblestone streets of the Old Town lies St. Petersbourg hotel.
What’s really unique about this place – besides the fact that you feel like you just stepped into a Russian time warp – is that it’s the oldest hotel in Tallinn.
The history of the hotel building dates back to the 14th century, and the owners have managed to keep the authentic feel, but with a modern twist.

St. Petersbourg Hotel, Tallinn
The rooms
My room was on the second floor and it had a cozy, romantic ambiance. The bed was extremely comfortable with a chunky fur blanket and you just wanted to jump right in and snuggle up.
So that’s exactly what I did!
There was plenty of wardrobe space, free bottled water was brought daily as was a newspaper, there was an iPad available to use with free Wi-Fi, and the room was very light.
A hotel with character
The St. Petersbourg hotel itself is lovely.
The decor suited it perfectly and the Russian imperial style added lots of charm. There’s a sauna and masseuse there too, but I didn’t have time to visit either.
Kuldse Notse Korts – Estonian restaurant
St. Petersbourg Hotel has two restaurants, which also happen to be two of the top-rated restaurants in Tallinn.
Kuldse Notsu Kõrts (The Golden Piglet Inn) is a rustic village-like restaurant located in the cellar with wooden tables and chairs.
It serves traditional Estonian food like sausages, herring, meat, and homemade cheese.
The Hermitage – Russian restaurant
The other restaurant is Russian, hence the name: The Hermitage.
It’s a fancy, but cozy and modern restaurant where you can get Russian dishes like borsch, Chicken Kyiv, beef stroganoff, and Siberian dumplings.
I had my favorite meal in Tallinn right here.
The prices are a little higher compared to Estonian standards (20€ for the meal below), but the food and service is worth every penny!
